Microsoft continues to drive transformation with their enterprise cloud solutions enabling organizations to adapt to the ever changing needs of how and where people work.

SADA recently co-hosted a live webinar with Microsoft’s Partner Technical Architect for Modern Workplace, David Branscome, to showcase some of the newest Office 365 updates and integrations and how they’re helping better collaboration, productivity and security.

In case you missed it, here are four highlights from the session.

1) Digital Transformation

Empowering employees to be creative and work together, securely.

As part of an ongoing effort to enable organizations to grow and thrive in the digital era, Microsoft recently introduced Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 is a complete, intelligent solution that combines Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. This solution drives innovation in  four primary ways: it unlocks creativity, it is built for teamwork, it is integrated for simplicity, and it provides intelligent security.

2) Collaboration and Unified Communication

In the past five years, there has been a transition from personal productivity to group productivity – working collaboratively to accomplish goals. With more employees working remotely and with the increased demand on this new workplace dynamic of collaborative work, Microsoft introduced Teams to the Office 365 suite.

Collaboration is how work gets done

Teams provides a comprehensive solution to collaboration with Chat – a feature that allows not only for enhanced communication and sharing but also full video and audio experiences and code formatting. It is also a hub for teamwork with common apps including Word, Excel, Notes, and the like to be fully accessed through Teams. Importantly, it is also customizable, allowing for bot integration that allows employees to streamline tasks while still ensuring the highest level of security.

3) Security

Businesses are constantly facing new challenges in security, like more advanced attacks, explosion of data growth, and GDPR compliance. Microsoft identifies and protects organization’s data in several ways.

  • Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection helps keep track of new, unidentified targets and threats, providing rich reporting and tracking features that determines who or what is being attacked and offering proactive solutions in preventing future attacks.
  • Office 365 also utilizes Cloud App Security and Secure Score, providing granular security controls and policies and measurement of an organization’s security position by scoring the security features already enabled and offering new ways to enhance security.

4) Analytics and Business Intelligence

How do organizations make sense of the mass amount of data and create actionable insights that drive their business forward? Microsoft’s Power BI connects to a number of data sources, creating rich and engaging visualizations of the data. Organizations get a comprehensive 360 degree view of their data, seamlessly integrating  data from Excel into Power BI Pro. With this, businesses are able to easily analyze the ROI and other KPIs most important to their overall goals.
