First hinted at during the SharePoint Conference 2014, a few exciting updates for OneDrive for Business in Office 365 are beginning to roll out to users, including Simple Controls, Site Folders, refined Search abilities and more! The new web interface of OneDrive is now available when users access OneDrive in their Office 365 top navigation.
For more streamlined workflows to accomplish commonplace tasks in OneDrive for Business, Simple Controls, including new, upload, edit, manage and share, are all now easily accessed above personal work document folders. With a simple click, users can create new Office documents, share those files internally or externally, take files offline and more! Simple Controls are also available for team site document libraries.
For users that follow a SharePoint Online site, new Site Folders allows users to directly access the document libraries within the SharePoint Online sites they follow – with less clicks, users can now access the content they need to see, directly from OneDrive for Business. Additionally, users can manage all their personal work documents or team site documents from one location in OneDrive for Business.
With Smart Search, users can now get the most relevant files according to their search terms, whether it was shared recently, or is nested within several folders.
We hope you enjoy these updates from OneDrive for Business! Which is your favorite? Let us know your thoughts! As always, if you have any questions about Office 365, don’t hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, visit our website!
