New Yammer features for Office 365 for Enterprise!

 

Microsoft has recently expanded the Office 365 Enterprise plans to include Yammer Enterprise, at no additional cost! As recently announced on the Office 365 for Business blog, all current Office 365 for Enterprise customers will receive licenses for Yammer Enterprise. Office 365 for Enterprise customers also no longer have to pay additional costs for external Yammer licenses, for clients or partners that may lie outside of the internal network. These changes to licensing and pricing are part of a larger series of updates to the Office 365 and Yammer integration across the Office 365 suite of tools, to promote leveraging Yammer as a powerful social tool for the enterprise.

These updates include:

  • Email interoperability
    Users no longer have to leave their preferred method of communication, whether that’s through email or Yammer, with email users able to participate in Yammer conversations without needing to set up a Yammer account

  • Improved Yammer mobile apps
    Updated Windows 8 app and Windows Phone app, with a completely redesigned iPad app coming!

  • Document collaboration
    Start a Yammer conversation from any document in your SharePoint Online library or SkyDrive Pro web client

  • Improved messaging
    Yammer has even more of a real-time presence with typing indicators and real-time likes, as well as the easy inclusion of multiple coworkers to a conversation, and more!

We’re excited to see the ways Yammer Enterprise will be further integrated into the Office 365 suite of solutions to deepen team collaboration across all the ways coworkers can communicate, both internally and externally.
