3 Ways Office 365 Creates A Powerful Learning Environment

As Microsoft recently announced the exciting availability of Student Advantage (a program that builds on an Office 365 for Education program that found its start in 2012 and now includes not only the cloud-based Office 365 suite of tools, but the ability to download the full Office software suite on up to 5 devices), we thought we’d dive into 3 ways that Office 365 helps create a powerful learning environment for students

  1. Collaborative learning: Students can work together by creating team sites in SharePoint while co-authoring documents in real-time. Lync also provides powerful options for chat and web-based conferencing!

  2. Learn remotely: Record audio or video notes with OneNote 2013 and watch them after class ends. Students can also merge different version of a document in Word, or use “read mode” to read text, add comments and research on Bing.

  3. Contributes to real-world skills: In a study conducted by the IDC, communication, integration and presentation skills will be required by 39% of the fastest-growing, highest-paying jobs, and skills with Microsoft Office is explicitly required for 15% of high-growth, high-salary jobs.

The Student Advantage program provides students with offline access and full access to the same productivity tools used by higher education and Fortune 500 companies alike. Students also have the ability to download Office 365 applications not only on their computers at school, but also their device of choice at home, allowing them to work on class assignments regardless of their location. The accessibility of Office 365 for students benefit students immediately as a set of solutions that reflect the way many organizations today work.
