Google Apps gets an updated look for some of your favorite collaboration solutions, including Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides, while sharing settings are extended to non-Google account holders for Docs, Slides and Google Drawings!
Google Apps users might have already noticed the change to the look and feel with a few editing tools within the Google Apps suite, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Apps Script. Each one of these tool’s product icon is now prominently displayed in the top left corner as part of your header, and links quickly back to all your Drive files. Your headers are also more streamlined, making your content the main focus.
And as announced earlier this week, Docs, Slides and Drawings can now be shared with non-Google accounts, making it even easier for you to collaborate with partners, vendors or even potential clients! With this change, files shared outside of your organization’s domain to an non-Google linked account can be viewed without a sign-in or the need to create a new Google account. However, if you set sharing settings with comment or edit permissions, the recipient still needs to sign in with a Google email account to be able to edit or comment in that Doc.
