Office 365 includes new updates to security, compliance and privacy that help your IT department simplify their efforts towards achieving compliance in your workplace! A recent post from the Office 365 Technology Blog discusses a key feature available to Office 365 customers to aid their compliance efforts: data loss prevention (DLP).
Office 365 now includes DLP Policy Tips, giving your IT admins the ability to notify email senders they may be sending sensitive information as defined by company policies, before they hit the send button. Not only does this benefit your organization’s compliance regulations but also teaches your staff use-cases unique to your operations where they should be cautious with the information they’re sharing. This is accomplished through Policy Tips’ ability to analyze email messages for sensitive content as well as contextually sensitive information. Your organization can identify specific scenarios associated with risk and configure custom policy tips matched up to those scenarios. Receiving custom policy tips through email ensures that your staff are aware of your compliance policies, without have their workflows interrupted by them.
Data loss prevention (DLP) in Office 365 is a critical part of how the platform’s enterprise messaging is set up, from protecting financial information to personally identifiable information (PII) and more.
