Microsoft Office 365 announcement: Exchange Online mailbox sizes are doubling

Office 365 users can now enjoy double the mailbox storage with Exchange Online! Microsoft recently announced on the Office 365 Technology Blog that the current 25 GB of mailbox storage offered to Office 365 users has now increased to 50 GB. Best of all, there’s no price increase associated with the change, which is being rolled out starting from the end of August to November. Organizations running off of Office 365 automatically enjoy the benefits the new mailbox size, benefitting both Exchange Online and Office 365 service plans, including: Exchange Online Plan 1, Office 365 Small Business, Midsize Business, Enterprise E1, Government G1 and Education A1. Premium service plans also benefit, with primary mailbox sizes increasing to 50 GB.

In addition to primary mailboxes, Office 365 Shared and Resources mailbox sizes are also increasing to 10 GB (more than doubling the original size)! This means that whether your users are actively working from their primary Office 365 mailbox or storing needed files and documents for team projects, there’s plenty of room available for collaboration.
